The Session

The Session

There are many things that play a part in creating custom images. Each image represents many hours of preparation before, during, and after your session and is a reflection of my time, talents, and training. To make all of this happen, I have invested many tens of thousands of dollars in lighting, camera and computer equipment, props, and multiple computer programs and templates.

In addition, there are many hidden costs involved in running a professional photography business including: insurance, taxes, supplies, website fees, online photo storage fees for customer viewing, accountant fees, camera check ups and repairs, marketing, heating and cooling, electricity, continuing education, and more.

I have also taken many photography classes over the years, both online and by traveling to hands on workshops and conferences all over the United States. I find that taking classes and attending workshops regularly helps me be at my best to create the custom images and beautiful memories that my clients deserve. I have also worked hard to earn my certifications in newborn photography safety and am an officially certified newborn photographer. I would love to get to know you and create a custom session that will give you and your family lasting memories.

My studio is located in Alpena, Michigan. I have a beautiful 960 square foot studio space with comfortable seating area that includes snacks and drinks to enjoy while your little one’s session is taking place. I also have over 150 backdrops, 500 headbands, 200 hats, over 100 of outfits, diaper covers, tutus, beads, birthday hats, many dresses and outfits for ages 6 months on up,  many couture princess and fairy dresses, layering, fabrics, and many other props such as buckets, tubs, baskets, a canoe, teepee’s, tents, baby beds, lovies, banners, and much more. To help make transitioning easier during your portrait session, I have multiple lighting set ups.  I look forward to planning your custom session and beautiful lasting memories.
