To capture this special time, newborn sessions are best photographed within the first 14 days of life. At this age babies are still sleepy and are easy to position into adorable poses. Contact me before your delivery date so that I am able to set some time aside for your bundle of joy. It is best to contact me at least 2-3 months prior to your due date to guarantee a spot on my calendar, plus you will get a $50 early booking discount. Most newborn sessions are typically booked 3-6 months prior to due dates. A $150 deposit is required in order to reserve you session date and time.
Your session includes a consultation including a questionnaire that gives me some insight into your style so that I can create a custom session that will give you memories that will last a lifetime. You will experience approximately 3 hour session at my studio. This allows us to take as many breaks as you or your baby needs as well as time to feed the baby. Once you have submitted the booking information you will receive a “Newborn Preparation Guide”. This guide will walk you through what you need to do to prepare baby for the photo session, as well as what happens during and after the session. Your photos will be available for previewing at my studio approximately 3 weeks after your session. At the previewing appointment we will preview the images, discuss printing and design options, and you will be given an access code so that you may further preview the images online in the comfort of your home.
Newborn babies photograph best in their birthday suits. I also have a large collection of newborn photography outfits including: pants, skirts, hats, headbands, props, blankets, and more to use during your session. Many of these things are designed specifically for photography purposes. If you have any special memorabilia that you would like to have your baby photographed with please feel free to bring it. We will discuss this during your phone consultation. Each photo in your session is the result of numerous hours of preparation before, during, and after the session. Your session is a result of many hours of photography and newborn education classes, workshops, and conferences, many thousands of dollars in props and equipment, and a true passion, all which creates a custom session that will give you beautiful images that you will cherish for a lifetime.
Finally, I have received both my national and international certification in newborn safety. Therefore you will experience a safe and practical environment that comes with being a trained professional. Although I will get many poses during your session, do know that I will never try to “get the shot” if it means compromising the well-being of your little one. I also have earned my professional newborn photographer certification.

This session is best who have a baby who is beyond the newborn session stage, but still would like some beautiful images of their little bundle of joy. After day 20 of a baby’s life, the amount of newborn poses typically decrease as they are not able to physically do the same types of poses that a newborn is able to do. This session is recommenced for newborn between 3-6 weeks old, but can include 2 month olds as well. This session includes 2 basic poses (Typically bum up pose and head up pose), a bucket pose, and 3-4 wraps poses) More advanced poses, outfits, and other props are not available at this session due to the age of the baby.

Because a swaddle session has less planning, set up, and session time, it does not require booking months in advance or before baby is born. However, it is always best to book as soon as possible to guarantee a spot on my calendar.
